  • What days of the week do we build?
  • Habitat builds from Tuesday - Saturday and the occasional Sunday upon special request.
  • How much does it cost?
  • For a corporate group to participate, the minimum donation requirement is $2,500 for a group of up to 10, and $5,000 for a group of 11-20.
  • Is there a tax receipt issued for this donation?
  • HFHT will issue a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation
  • What is the maximum number of people who can participate?
  • The group size capacity varies with the size of each build site.
  • What is included with the donation?
  • Habitat for Humanity's Adopt a Day is Toronto's most unique team-building experience that engages employees and enables the company to invest in the community. Your day will include a t-shirt, lunch, snacks, all tools and safety equipment, and a fun and rewarding team-building experience.
  • Can someone come out and speak to our team?
  • Absolutely! Once your day is booked, we will be happy to come out and give an informative Lunch & Learn presentation that will help recruit volunteers or motivate and inspire employees who will soon be building with us.
  • How much notice do you require for cancellations?
  • We require a minimum of 3 weeks notice for cancellations. If a cancellation occurs after the 2 week time period, your organization will still be responsible for keeping your donation commitment, as it is unlikely that we will be able to fill the spots with another group at such short notice and we rely on these funds to purchase building material.

  • The day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
  • What time do we arrive on site?
  • Please arrive on the build site promptly at 8:00 a.m. There is a mandatory safety speech at 8:30 a.m. and all waivers must be processed before then.
  • Will there be someone there to greet us?
  • A representative from Volunteer Services will greet you upon arrival to register you and your team.
  • Can someone arrive late/leave early?

  • What should we wear?
  • Loose, comfortable and old clothing is ideal. Please dress for the weather and be prepared to get dirty!
  • Hard hats/work boots?
  • Habitat for Humanity provides these for all of our volunteers, however, if you have your own CSA approved steel-toe work boots and hard hat, you are welcome to bring them.

"I found Habitat Toronto is a very friendly organization for low income families. No interest, no down payment, training for home ownership, the best thing is you can own a house even if you are on a low income.

We thank God and thank the staff of Habitat for Humanity Toronto who give us this opportunity. It's our dream; it's the goal of our life."
